Impact of Using Text Message in Health Seeking Behavior in Uganda
Juan C. Guzman, University of Notre Dame
Despite the fact that the Health Clinic in Nnindye in the Mpigi District conducts several events trough the year, the participation by women and children is not consistent. this project will provide reminders using text messages directly to women to alert them about Health Clinic events. We recruit 200 women and randomly assign them to two groups: one receives text messages, and the other group does not. We expect that text messages are an effective way to increase health seeking behavior by women, and increase child health indicators such as deworming, vaccination and vitamin intake.
